How to get a hosting refund, step by step

You get a hosting refund by asking the hosting company to cancel the plan with a refund, inside the refund period. At Hostinger that period is 30 days from the payment.
How do I ask for a hosting refund?
- Find the date of your payment. The refund period starts on that date.
- Check that you are still inside the refund period.
- Check that the product is refundable. A hosting plan is. Some extras are not.
- Contact the hosting company's support and ask for a cancellation with a refund.
- Choose where the refund goes: the original payment method or the account balance.
- Keep the written confirmation of the request and its date.
The Hostinger refund policy does not list its own steps. It points customers to its Customer Support team. We read the policy on 12 October 2026.
How many days do I have?
30 days from the date of the payment at Hostinger. A new domain registration has 96 hours. Send the request before the last day, so the date of the request is inside the period.
Which items in my order are not refunded?
These items are not refunded under the Hostinger policy:
- Domain name renewals
- Domain privacy protection
- The free domain that comes with a plan
- Orders paid with cryptocurrency
- A VPS plan, when you had another VPS plan refunded in the last 180 days
Is the refund reduced if my plan came with a free domain?
It can be. The Hostinger policy says a free domain from a special deal is not refundable, and that the company may refund the difference between the amount you paid and the price of that domain.
Where does the money go?
To the original payment method. You can ask for a refund to your Hostinger account balance instead. The policy says that choice cannot be changed once the refund has started.
Can I get a refund after the period has ended?
No. You can cancel the plan at any time, but the policy pays a refund only when the cancellation is requested inside the refund period. The guide hosting money back guarantee explains what the period covers.
What should I check before I buy, so a refund stays possible?
Check the refund period and the list of items that are not refunded. The Hostinger coupon code page states the refund period next to the tested prices.
