Hosting money-back guarantee: what it covers and what it leaves out

Updated on ยท 7 questions answered

A hosting money-back guarantee is a promise to return your payment if you cancel the plan within a set number of days. It covers the hosting plan. It does not cover every item in the order.

How long is a hosting money-back guarantee?

30 days at Hostinger, counted from the date of the payment. The period differs between hosting companies, so read it before you pay for a long plan. We read the Hostinger refund policy on 12 October 2026.

What does the money-back guarantee cover?

It covers the hosting plan. The Hostinger refund policy lists hosting plans as refundable when you cancel within 30 days of the payment.

What is not covered?

These items are not refunded under the Hostinger policy:

A new domain registration has its own, shorter period: 96 hours from the registration.

Does the guarantee apply to a renewal?

Yes. The Hostinger policy counts a renewal as a new payment. The 30 days run again from the date the renewal is charged.

Where is the refund paid?

Hostinger pays the refund to the original payment method. You can choose a refund to your account balance at Hostinger instead. The policy says that choice cannot be changed afterwards.

What happens if I cancel after the period?

You can cancel at any time, but no refund is paid after the refund period. This matters most on a long plan, because the whole period is billed upfront. The Hostinger 48-month plan page shows the amount you pay on day one.

How do I use the guarantee?

Ask for the cancellation and the refund inside the period. The guide how to get a hosting refund lists the steps.
